Dear Community Members:
I am pleased to announce that the Washington Community Haunted House & Festival will return again this year. This will be our 16th annual event after a one-year break. The event will be held on Halloween night, Saturday October 31st from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm at the Washington United Youth Center, 921 S. First Street. I am working in conjunction with the TeensReach youth group from the Biblioteca Latinoamericana in coordinating this great event. The youth have been doing a great job so far with all of the preparations and planning for the event. We will be once again having a haunted maze, food, music, games, arts & crafts, contests and much, much more.
In the meantime, we are looking for volunteers and groups to help sponsor a "scare booth" inside the haunted maze. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to be creative and get into the Halloween spirit by creating scary scenes inside the maze. I am attaching a registration form and more information on how to volunteer. This is also a good opportunity for youth needing to complete some community service hours.
