First opened on November 20, 1999, the
Biblioteca serves as a City-wide resource
for Spanish language materials.

The Brenda Lopez Memorial Plaza includes
concrete paving inscribed with artwork and
a lawn area to accommodate audiences for
the outdoor stage located behind the
Washington United Youth Center. The park
honors the life Brenda Lopez, a resident of
the community who was integral in the
creation of the Community Folklorico Dance
Group. She was active in the community
and worked closely with the students and
faculty of the Washington Elementary
School.
